Significant progress was made on the Global Research on the Impact of Dermatological Disease (GRIDD) project during our time at the AAD earlier this month. We met with our lead researcher, Dr. Matthias Augustin (University of Hamburg, Germany) to plan a series of next steps including assembling our core research team in Europe later this spring and establishing our Scientific Advisory Board. We will be sure to share more details with you in the coming months.
We have held a number of meetings with officials at the World Health Organization (WHO) to better understand how they view dermatological diseases and to brief them on our GRIDD research. The WHO will be very important in our advocacy efforts once the GRIDD data is available as one of our key objectives is to change their very low Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALY) ranking of dermatological diseases, which impacts access to research, care and treatment for our patients.
