Member Impact Project Updates
2021 has already been an incredible year of accomplishments for our Members. Around the globe, Patient Leaders and their Organizations have been working hard on initiatives that further their causes and we're happy to start highlighting projects that have been completed through the support of the GlobalSkin Member Impact Fund.
AADA (Asociación de Afectados por la Dermatitis Atópica)
The AADA (Asociación de Afectados por la Dermatitis Atópica), Spain used the Impact Fund to write and produce a narrated children's story which they've made into a video featured on YouTube.
It is the story of a small fire-breathing dragon named Flare (Picón), that struggles with his uncontrollable flames. As the story unfolds, the dragon manages to turn his challenges into something positive.
Vitiligo Support and Research Group - Vitamigos (Cuba)
Through GlobalSkin's Member Impact Fund, the Vitiligo Support and Research Group hosted a Workshop on, "The Psychological and Social Impacts on Dermatology Patients with Vitiligo and Psoriasis" which took place on December 22, 2020 in the venue of a theater near Holguin City, Cuba.
There were 85 participants, including patients, family, doctors, and psychologists. The event held 10 presentations covering several different topics, all related to the Psychological and Social Impacts on Dermatology Patients with Vitiligo and Psoriasis.
International Pemphigus & Pemphigoid Foundation
The International Pemphigus & Pemphigoid Foundation was seeking to develop a more global footprint for its activities in advocacy and patient support. The Member Impact Fund has allowed this organization to appoint a new patient leader and develop him as their first Regional Director, to establish a support group in Kenya that could then be used as the basis for expansion and development to other countries in Africa.
