Global Albinism Alliance
With support from the GlobalSkin Member Impact Fund, The Global Albinism Alliance Pilot Team produced a 67-minute online celebration for International Albinism Awareness Day 2021.
Hosted by Nadine Nourney, a German actress with albinism, the event included:
- A report on the progress of the Global Albinism Alliance Pilot
- Reports of progress made in the past year from 23 organizations, alliances and NGOs serving people with albinism from 6 continents (six organizations reported on health care and albinism research including stories concerning sunscreen manufacture and distribution as well as skin cancer screening and treatment)
- A message from UN Independent Expert on Albinism, Ikponwosa Ero,
- Musical performances by persons with albinism, Peter Ogik, Connie Chiu and Voli K
- An interview with Antoine Gliksohn and Mike McGowan of the Global Albinism Alliance.
The event was presented in four languages, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
