ITSAN
On May 15, 2021 the International Topical Steroid Addiction Network (ITSAN), hosted its first-ever International virtual conference, called Spark with over 250 registrants representing 20 countries.
There were presentations from doctors on the Western medical perspective and the Eastern perspective, topical steroid withdrawal (TSW) patients themselves held a panel discussion, ITSAN Board Members presented about advocacy, an ITSAN member held a guided mediation, and there was a presentation on mental health from a Pyschology professor.
After the presentations, attendees had the choice of joining 3 breakout rooms. The breakout rooms allowed people to speak with TSW warriors around the world, share experiences, and provide support. To have fun and support the children in the virtual conference, there was a cartoonist that helped the kids get their minds off of being ill.
