Mark your calendar for World Atopic Eczema Day - September 14, 2018.
What is it really like living with atopic eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis or eczema? On September 14, 2018, IADPO will bring voice to patients and their caregivers by asking them that question in an online questionnaire on our new interactive online community AltogetherEczema. Working with patient associations around the world, IAPDO wants to help spark an international conversation focused on issues related to living with this disease ─ all with a view to bringing about positive change.
World Atopic Eczema Day will:
1. Unite the community around shared experiences of living with eczema and atopic dermatitis, raising awareness of the issues faced and what the community want to change.
2. Raise global awareness of atopic eczema.
3. Identify issues that most impact atopic eczema patients and share this information in a way that informs those who do not live with this disease.
4. Help connect patients and caregivers with their local patient associations.
Our objective is to also facilitate a discussion on AltogtherEczema focused on issues faced by patients and to provide support in improving access to optimal care and treatment for eczema and atopic dermatitis patients. This first-of-its kind online platform for the community will engage and inspire individuals, groups and organizations around collective action for change – providing a space to share stories, highlight issues being faced, and amplifying what people living with this disease most want to change.
In August, we will be sharing with patient organizations a communications toolkit to help in promoting the Day. Let us know if you are interested in learning more about this important initiative.
