Dear GlobalSkin Members,
On June 12, 2021 GlobalSkin celebrated its 6th Anniversary! In six short years, we have seen tremendous advancement of the objectives set by our founding members when they met for the first time in Vancouver, Canada in June 2015. Key few highlights include:
- Our Membership has grown to 183 Members in 61 countries representing 65+ dermatological diseases;
- Our Programming now includes webinar series, e-learning, Impact Fund, conferences, workshops, awareness days, and three disease-specific and regional Member communities;
- The Global Research on the Impact of Dermatological Diseases (GRIDD) project which just concluded its phase 3 Delphi study with patients around the world;
- A stable and maturing governance structure which now includes nine Board Directors and five Board Committees;
- More than 15 collaborations, memberships and partnerships with dermatology organizations;
- Eighteen funding partners committed to GlobalSkin’s mission;
- and so much more!
Our reach and relevance as a patient organization community continues to grow year over year and I am grateful that you have joined us. You are an essential part of this incredible journey! We look forward to what the next six years will bring as we continue to work collaboratively towards improving the lives of dermatology patients globally.
The GlobalSkin Virtual Conference – Thrive 2021 was held on June 3, 2021. We were thrilled to see 91 participants join the event, including patient organization leaders located in every region of the world. We are so thankful that you took the time for yourself to learn and reconnect with other patient leaders across the globe. We were excited to have many partners and valued stakeholders like the ILDS, PeDRA and EUPATI also make time to be part of our program. Save the Date for the GlobalSkin AGM
GlobalSkin will hold its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, September 29 at 11:00 am – 12:30 pm EDT. Along with the AGM, voting in the GlobalSkin Board of Directors election will begin on that date.
If you are a Full Member and have a passion for providing strong support to dermatology patients, understand a Board’s oversight role, and have experience participating in events and initiatives led by GlobalSkin, you are the type of candidate that we would love to see run for the two open seats on our Board.
On June 22, all Full Members received an email with full election details. We encourage you to consider this opportunity to play a leadership role in our growing alliance.
