As part of GlobalSkin's ongoing work with its regional networks, we launched the Regional Engagement Workshop Series in early 2026 that brought you—our Members—together for a set of virtual sessions focused on all six World Health Organization (WHO) regions. Through facilitated, structured discussions, the Series created a space for:
- Sharing experiences
- Identifying skin patient priorities and needs
- Exploring health system challenges and opportunities
- Preparing GlobalSkin Members to engage in regional and national advocacy including participation in WHO consultations
Insights from these workshops will be documented and synthesized to inform regional reports. The reports will inform the World Health Organization’s Global Action Plan on the Skin Diseases Resolution, strengthen GlobalSkin’s regional networks and most importantly equip our Members with messaging to amplify the work they do in their local setting.
The Value of Your Participation in the Workshop Series
Member input has been central to the Regional Engagement Workshop Series. Participation in the workshops has ensured that patient experiences are captured and translated into insights that can be used across multiple settings. For those who participated, you can expect the following:
Your contributions feed into regional reports that can be used in local advocacy
Engagement with WHO regional offices is reinforced through coordinated input
Your country-level challenges are translated into high-impact, decision-maker–focused messages
Shared findings yield credible regional insights to support dialogue with ministries, funders, and regulators
Skin patient priorities gain visibility within regional and global advocacy forums
Patient experiences help guide how the Skin Diseases Resolution is implemented in practice
Thank You for Your Involvement
GlobalSkin’s Regional Engagement Workshop Series has seen participation from Members across all world regions. We thank Members who contributed their time, insights, and experiences. Your input is helping to build a clearer understanding of the realities faced by people with skin diseases worldwide, which we will be conveying to the WHO.
We are now analyzing the collected data, and compiling regional reports that reflect the diverse perspectives shared. These findings will be shared with GlobalSkin Members in our closing webinar. Stay tuned for the webinar date and registration details.
