The International Alliance of Dermatology Patient Organizations, known as GlobalSkin, is a global, patient-led non-profit based in Canada. We unite and amplify patient voices worldwide to improve the lives of people affected by skin conditions.
Approximately 1.8 billion people* worldwide live with one or more of over 3,000 distinct dermatological conditions. Yet, this vast patient community remains significantly underrepresented in healthcare conversations. GlobalSkin is committed to changing that.

We support patient organizations so they can better reach, empower, and advocate for the people they serve. By joining our global network, you’ll connect with fellow patient leaders, share best practices, and strengthen your organization’s impact.
GlobalSkin and our 330+ member organizations in 78 countries, spanning 59+ dermatological areas, collaborate to:
- Empower members to deliver high quality services to patients and advocate on behalf of their communities.
- Develop influential advocates to support the development of dermatology patient leaders so that they feel capable of representing the patient voice at a national, regional and global levels.
- Foster networks and focused communities around specific needs and conditions (atopic eczema, rare dermatological conditions, and specific regional networks).
- Represent patient voices in the broader dermatology community.
- Mobilize collective action through awareness days and social campaigns.
- Advocate globally to ensure that patient perspectives are represented at the highest levels of health policy making.
- Build strategic alliances to amplify patient needs and priorities.
- PRIDD - Promote adoption of PRIDD to generate compelling evidence to support better policies in skin diseases alongside measurable advances in access to appropriate care and treatment.
- World Skin Health Coalition helps to lead this multi-stakeholder group that is focused on improving health outcomes for people living with skin diseases and conditions.
