Dear GlobalSkin Members,
I am sending a heartfelt thank you to all of our members that have been actively involved in all the initiatives that GlobalSkin has been working on so far this year! Especially those that have contributed to the Regional Engagement Series. We will use your feedback to develop regional reports to advance our advocacy and support the “All Skin” World Health Assembly resolution implementation. We held six Regional Workshops that are helping to inform GlobalSkin's input to the development of a Global Action Plan on Skin Diseases as called for in the WHA Resolution. We are grateful to everyone who contributed their insights.
As GlobalSkin continues to champion a strong and representative global voice for people affected by dermatological conditions, we participated in a panel discussion as part of the EADV’s “More than just skin: Turning global commitments on skin diseases into EU and national action” event at the European Parliament on February 26. The focus of the event was centred on the WHA Skin Diseases Resolution. Our participation and engagement was welcomed in light of our important contribution to the World Health Assembly Resolution on Skin Diseases and the ongoing development of the Global Action Plan. We shared perspectives on behalf of our members and the patients they serve. The event included some of our member organizations, dermatologists and policy-makers, and was co-sponsored by two Members of the European Parliament.
I’m excited to welcome 12 new members to our alliance. This brings our alliance to 360+ Members! To help our newest members get connected and Unite us all, please join the New Member Welcome Coffee Chat on March 31. The session is open to both new and long-standing members who would like to learn more about GlobalSkin, share experiences, and build connections. We will also be sending a small but mighty delegation to the upcoming American Academy of Dermatology in Denver, on March 27-31 to engage dermatology partners. We will meet with industry partners, speaking at the Association for Psychoneurocutaneous Medicine of North America Conference, and we will have a PRIDD booth in the exhibits hall.
To Elevate and uplift GlobalSkin Member organizations in the important and impactful work that you carry out for your patient communities, we have been fortunate to provide many of you with targeted financial support through the GlobalSkin Member Impact Fund. Recently, we received an unprecedented 87 applications, and although we strive to strengthen patient-led organizations by offering this support to help Members plan, launch, and deliver high-value initiatives, we don’t have the financial ability to fund all projects. Please keep in mind that organizations that have not previously received a grant are prioritized, which speaks to our commitment to assuring equity across our membership. Keep up the great work as all of your projects are important and worthy.
Thank you all for your continued engagement and for your commitment to GlobalSkin!
Gratefully,
Marc Yale
GlobalSkin Board President
