Call for Applications
Do you have a passion for providing strong support to dermatology patients, understand a Board’s oversight role and have direct experience participating in events and initiatives led by GlobalSkin?
If so, then YOU can play a leadership role in building a better future for dermatology patients around the world! Applications are being accepted from representatives of Full Member organizations who are interested in standing for election to our Board of Directors.
What's In It for You and Your Patient Organization?
GlobalSkin Board Directors contribute their time and energy to our movement and are responsible for providing quality advice during their tenure. In doing so, they benefit directly from this prestigious professional development opportunity.
- You will gain expertise as a board director in a global organization
- You will develop new skills and experience, as well as insights into global issues that can affect the patients whom you serve nationally or regionally
- You will participate in international events and meetings
- You and your organization will make connections with patient leaders and other dermatology stakeholders in other countries
- You will raise the profile and reputation of your organization
Your Role as a Board Director
As an elected Board Director, you will help to advance the development of the organization and to grow the GlobalSkin movement. Your role will directly contribute to setting strategic direction and providing oversight as we work to improve the lives of those affected by dermatological conditions around the world through research, advocacy and support.
Board Directors act in the best interests of GlobalSkin as a whole. If elected, you will act independently in a personal capacity and not as a representative of your patient organization.
Board Directors are elected by Members for three-year terms. Once elected, you may choose to run for re-election twice, meaning that you can potentially serve nine consecutive years on our Board.
Open Seats for the 2026 Board Election
Up to ten Members may serve on our Board of Directors each term. To foster diversity on our Board, GlobalSkin allows a maximum of two directors per world region and dermatological disease area to serve concurrently.
In 2026, up to four positions are open and may be filled by patient leaders from Full Member organizations according to the charts below.

There is at least one position open in any world region and in any dermatological disease area this year. To determine the world region for your patient organization, view the list of countries per region here, as set by the World Health Organization.
