From March 8 to 12, 2024, GlobalSkin was present at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting in San Diego, California. GlobalSkin was represented by Board President Marc Yale, Public Affairs Director Visnja Zaborski Breton, Strategic Partnerships Manager Jakub Sadocha, and Director of Operations Allison FitzGerald.
A key highlight of the event was the Skin Matters Reception, held on March 8, 2024, co-hosted by GlobalSkin and the Coalition of Skin Diseases (CSD). The reception provided an opportunity for attendees to learn about the efforts of GlobalSkin and the CSD in advancing the understanding and prioritization of dermatological diseases, to network and meet other delegates attending the AAD.
Other notable events during the AAD included:
- Hosting a GRIDD stakeholder meeting, where Prof. Dr. Matthias Augustin (co-lead researcher of the GRIDD Project) provided an update on recent developments around GlobalSkin’s new PRIDD measure and progress on analysis of the data collected from the GRIDD Study.
- GlobalSkin Board President Marc Yale delivered a presentation to the AAD Performance Measures Committee who have shown interest in PRIDD. Conversations will continue on how the measure can be adopted for use in the United States.
- Participation at the CSD Development Day where Marc had the opportunity to present on plans for a 2025 WHA Resolution on skin diseases and the recently launched #NotJustMySkin awareness campaign led by World Skin Health Coalition.
- Attending the ILDS’ World Congress of Dermatology 2027 reception and many more meaningful meetings.
Throughout the AAD Annual Meeting, GlobalSkin engaged with patient advocate leaders, healthcare professionals and industry representatives. These connections facilitated the exchange of insights that are essential for driving forward the global agenda on dermatological health and patient care.
