Driving Action on the World Skin Health Resolution
In 2026, GlobalSkin will support the practical rollout of the World Health Assembly Resolution on skin diseases by mobilizing its Member organizations located in all six WHO regions. This work focuses on GlobalSkin helping Members activate advocacy opportunities created by the Resolution and apply them in real-world policy and health system contexts.
With the Resolution adopted, the World Health Organization (WHO) is developing a Global Action Plan to guide how countries respond. Ensuring that patient perspectives are reflected in this framework depends on strong, coordinated advocacy from patient organizations. GlobalSkin’s role is to support Members in contributing evidence, insights, and priorities that can inform implementation at national, regional, and global levels.
Regional Engagement Workshop Series: An Introduction
The Regional Engagement Workshop Series is a structured set of regional discussions designed to equip GlobalSkin Members to engage effectively in advocacy linked to the Skin Diseases Resolution.
Through this series, GlobalSkin aims to:
- Gather patient priorities from across all six WHO regions
- Highlight regional differences in health systems, access, and care delivery
- Identify common challenges and needs that can inform the WHO Global Action Plan
- Support Members in preparing for advocacy activities, including participation in consultations at national and regional levels
The Value of Your Participation in the Workshop Series
Member input is central to the Regional Engagement Workshop Series. Participation in the workshops ensures that patient experiences are captured and translated into evidence-based insights that can be used across multiple settings.
By taking part:
- Your contributions feed into evidence-based regional reports that can be used in local advocacy
- Your country-level challenges are translated into high-impact, decision-maker–focused messages
- Patient priorities gain visibility within regional and global advocacy forums
- Engagement with WHO regional offices is reinforced through coordinated input
- Shared findings generate credible regional data to support dialogue with ministries, funders, and regulators
- Patient experiences help guide how the Skin Diseases Resolution is implemented in practice
