Institute Atopika

Institute Atopika from Slovenia used the GlobalSkin Member Impact Fund for a project focused on organizational development. Specifically, they used the funds to update their website to improve their membership functions and to provide support to Atopic Eczema patients by providing a platform that allowed medical doctors to communicate with them virtually. With the Impact Fund, they were able to hire technical support to create the platform. At the beginning of this project, they only had 161 members, but now they have 335 members who were accessing the site.

Comment from Tina Mesaric:

“GlobalSkin can’t even imagine how thankful we are for funding opportunities like the GlobalSkin Member Impact Fund. Atopic dermatitis is an extremely underestimated disease and, as a result, it is almost impossible to receive funding at the national level to cover costs such as website upgrades or any other activities. From this point of view, the support of GlobalSkin is invaluable. GlobalSkin not only supports the development of the organization but also projects such as providing systemic support to patients who are often overlooked due to national underestimation of the disease. With the help of the donation, we have strengthened our ability to connect with our members, and at the same time, we have provided our members with a platform that provides advice to many experts in the field of atopic dermatitis, allergies, and asthma. At a time of epidemic, when patients find it even harder to get medical advice, this support is all the more valuable.”
