IADPO President's Message - Spring 2018

Dear Members & Stakeholders,

JMM Spring has arrived!  With this season of growth and blooms our organization continues to do the same, with over 86 Members from across the globe joining our movement.

Our Members now represent over 30 disease areas and are from 35 different countries.  You will get to know one of our Members in our newsletter below – Genespoir – association française des albinismes.  Learn about why Genespoir is a Member and if you haven’t already done so, please register your organization to reinforce the voice of patient around the world. To ensure the largest number of patient organization able to join, the registration is at no cost.

Our IAPDO team has been very busy this year participating in numerous events including the American Academy of Dermatology Congress in San Diego, USA, the first Vitiligo International Patient Organizations Conference in Paris, France and most recently the International Symposium on Atopic Dermatitis (ISAD 2018) in the Netherlands.

In 2018, we are working actively with Atopic Eczema and Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) patient associations to build global communities and advocacy supports. In fact, we are creating an online platform to highlight the issues faced by people living with Atopic Dermatitis and Eczema and provide support to them in improving access to optimal care.

Our GRIDD (Global Research of Impact of Dermatological Diseases) project continues to move forward with the initiation of our Scientific Literature Review last month leaded by Pr. M. Augustin and a dedicated research team. New partners are coming onboard to support this important patient impact research.

We look forward to seeing some of you in Paris when the EADV (European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology) hosts its annual Congress on September 12-16 where we will meet partners and researchers to advance the knowledge about patient impacts of diseases.

IADPO’s team and I, hope to see you in the Patient Village and at our Skin Matters reception – more details to come!
