About

NFED empowers and connects those touched by ectodermal dysplasias through education, support and research.

Impact Fund Project

2022 marks the NFED’s 40th Anniversary since its founding. Over the years, we made significant strides – and as part of our 2022 40th Anniversary Celebration, we have a big plan. Throughout the year, we will be increasing support services for our families, providing additional financial support for treatment assistance, and spearheading and funding more research projects than ever before. We will also be holding a planned Family Conference & Gala Celebration event in St.Louis, Missouri July 14-16, 2022. NFED will specifically use funds fromGlobalSkin to support Marketing & Communications expenses related to promoting our 2022 Celebration.

Thank you for these hard-to-come-by dollars! It is always difficult to secure support for the NFED's marketing needs. Few funders are willing to support marketing efforts - at the same time, our significant program budget needs often make it more difficult to allocate necessary budget dollars toward marketing tools.

The Biggest Success of the Project in Our Patient Community

2022 has been a year of growth and results! After postponing for two years due to COVID, this July, NFED hosted hundreds of affected individuals and families (plus many of our scientific and program supporters) at our Family Conference & 40th Anniversary Celebration in St. Louis. The impact has been extraordinary... a unique combination of celebration, achievement, and joy! NFED’s short and long-term goals focus on program growth, utilization, and awareness. Thanks in large part to GlobalSkin's marketing support, we have successfully promoted our 2022 Family Conference & Anniversary Celebration. We are also increasing affected individual membership and program growth.

The 2022 Family Conference and Anniversary Gala were terrific events. The staff, patients, and all those who attended were excited to be together again in person after a few years apart. After all the marketing, planning, and dedication that went into hosting this event were finished, it was amazing to look around the room at the gala, while one of our NFED members sang. The emotion in the room was visible and the year of planning success. - Becky M. Abbott, NFED Director, Treatment and Research Advocacy
